Well... The way an oven works is simply providing sufficient heat in an enclosed space over a certain period of time, yes? I wondered whether 'twould be possible to recreate the same, but without the oven specifically. Open flames as the heat source would be an obvious choice... The length of time presents the problem, I believe--otherwise I would have tried to find a way to force the reaction instantaneously, or as near to it as possible. But baking is not a simple process like, say, expansion or vaporization, and trying to cram it into too short a time would likely be disastrous.
