Kids have a reason to be naive and innocent.

That's debatable.

I'm pretty sure having literally not had the opportunity to learn otherwise yet is a good reason. And most kids shouldn't.

Which is why no one here has an excuse. Even if they were naive when they got here, they should have figured things out pretty quickly.
