[Sits down next to him and holds out a pair of chopsticks.]
Hm. I don't know her very well, but she... offered to join me, when I told her what I was doing to go after you all. Said she'd thought about it before.
I told her the fact that she'd thought about it before said enough about her judgment that I absolutely didn't want her coming with me.
...Yeah, she was. Mars thought it was better to stay behind given that two of his unit were already missing. Though he did offer to kill me if it was easier. Man Eater was pretty sure you had everything under control, but told me it was my call to go and just asked where I'd be.
[Well, since he hasn't eaten any warm food for the past few days and certainly not home-cooked, he balances the chopsticks between the fingers of his good hand and with the traditional Japanese phrase (clearly a habit more out of reflex than anything else) starts eating.
...Yeah. I also talked to him when you were missing, and asked him if he thought he could ask Azzy about it. Not giving away anything, obviously, just as if he noticed you were missing and was wondering if he knew anything. But he thought it was too risky.
I'd assumed something like that wouldn't work anyway, so it's not like I was upset or anything... but he got kind of freaked out when I mentioned I had a risky plan of my own.
Well, he was clearly upset that people had gone on some crazy mission to start with. And before I mentioned my time limit, he assumed I was going to run off immediately without trying alternatives or thinking through plans myself.
From talking to him earlier, it sounds like he gets really stressed out if things are out of his control. Kind of like you.

[raises her eyebrow at... all of that.]
...Mm, I made a bunch, ate some and packed the rest up. There's more in the fridge, so you can keep that for later if you want.

Made her a pair of eyes after she lost hers in that stupid space game. Seems I've become her personal mechanic at some point.
[Takes a seat back at the cube table and moves to open the container]

1/2
...
Of course she did.
She's been wanting to settle her score with Lady Death since nearly the first time I met her.

To each their own.

[just shrugs, after a moment]
Well, bringing you the whole cafe at least seems like a better idea than that.

And it’s no surprise she wanted to join you since two of her own were missing.
Was she the only one that offered?

You got everything wrapped up for now, then...?

King was a no-show, so I'll drop a set of notes off wherever he is later tonight.
And then tomorrow, I need to work on making sure everyone gets their limbs replaced.

That was second.
