Like I said, I don't remember anything about him myself. But - I spoke to the "other one" earlier, for whatever his word is worth.

He's not a spirit like myself or Nine-Nine, but some kind of... alternate personality, borne from trauma, apparently.

...I see. Well, that would explain why he didn't get split up like the rest of you, I guess. Not the weird glowing eye in his forehead, but I'm not sure how that works anyway.

The eye appears when channeling shadow magic. I didn't think anything of it at the time, but that's because I never once thought he would be able to run a shadow game here.

What exactly makes something a "shadow game"...?

If there's magic in play that will automatically inflict penalties. In this case, apparently those penalties were a loss of memories.

[ The last part sounds very bitter. ]

...Yeah. Winners got them back at the end, but we did lose memories over the course of the game.
