I don't want you to end up wrapped up in this. Asking about it might just piss him off, and it sounds like you don't need that at the moment.

Actually, I recently found that he seemed happy enough about it... as long as I was boosting his ego, and not making him feel incompetent.

Well, he's also come a lot closer to explicitly admitting feelings lately, in general. Believe it or not, he's definitely working on it and making progress... so, I'll see what happens.
