I WANNA TALK ABOUT HOW MUCH MAKI IS WILLING TO SHANK SOMEONE FOR A
First like I mentioned is the non-literal shanking, where she is absolutely not going to tolerate people criticizing him to her. SIMILAR TO HER THREAD WITH BOSS. She won't like... necessarily argue with people's criticisms if she thinks they are right (she will if she thinks they are being unfair, though probably not revealing as much that was said to her in confidence as she did with Boss) but she will ABSOLUTELY be like "if you have a problem with him you have a problem with me." They've decided they are similar and they understand each other so she's not really willing to tolerate people acting like SHE is a perfectly nice person and A is an asshole, since she sees basically no reason why that would be the case. If anything she's pretty sure she's more of an asshole habitually, even if she has not exploded quite as badly maybe.
Then there is the literal shanking. She's... She's extremely emotionally invested in him now. She was willing enough to be spiteful at C when she barely knew him and just vaguely empathized... if anyone actually deeply hurt A now they would be in some Real Danger. Though Boss is a special case here obviously.
I'm so happy. What a wholesome pair. He is the same, though it's not
something he has actively thought about. I very much hope that they will
have the chance to shank for one another during the Betrayal game.
I've been trying to think of something I haven't rambled about in that
plurk yesterday... I AM STILL THINKING can you think of anything specific
Hmm. I'm not sure how much there is to say, but two related questions:
1) What are A's actual feelings on Maki being an assassin? HOW MUCH IS HE JUST NOT THINKING ABOUT IT TOO HARD?
Related because I saw C commented on him being buddy-buddy with Maki despite her being an assassin - 2) His thoughts on how OTHER PEOPLE see his relationship with Maki?
For the most part, he's willfully not focusing on it, though he has decided
that it is OBVIOUSLY not her fault for REASONS. Some of which are rational!
Maki does not super seem like she has been allowed to make a whole lot of
her own life choices! but also he is pretty good at believing exactly what
he wants to believe, and what he wants to believe is that Maki has never
done anything wrong in her entire life.
He had basically that point with Boss before everything blew up and frankly
was even willing to get along with Oni until it became Personal, because it
was far more convenient to do so.
Which leads to the second point, which is that he has never felt like he
was losing any social currency by hanging out with her. The only person
who's called him out on it is C, and who even cares what he thinks? And at
this point he's invested enough in her he will just attempt to spin the
narrative to how he sees it.

oooh yes, that's a good topic
