[A couple of hours after they part ways after the info dump]

CEO: Done.
CEO: Where are you?

Maki: In the kitchen.
Maki: I was doing some cooking, but I'm just cleaning up now.

[bluescreenwhitedragon]

CEO: Do you want me to meet you there?

[rollplayinghouse]

Maki: If you give me five minutes I can head back up to future is now, unless you had something else in mind.

CEO: I'll wait.

[rollplayinghouse]

Maki: Then I'll be there soon.

[And in fact she's at the door in more like three or four minutes.]

...Mm, I made a bunch, ate some and packed the rest up. There's more in the fridge, so you can keep that for later if you want.

Made her a pair of eyes after she lost hers in that stupid space game. Seems I've become her personal mechanic at some point.

[Takes a seat back at the cube table and moves to open the container]

[Sits down next to him and holds out a pair of chopsticks.]

Hm. I don't know her very well, but she... offered to join me, when I told her what I was doing to go after you all. Said she'd thought about it before.

I told her the fact that she'd thought about it before said enough about her judgment that I absolutely didn't want her coming with me.

And it’s no surprise she wanted to join you since two of her own were missing.

...Yeah, she was. Mars thought it was better to stay behind given that two of his unit were already missing. Though he did offer to kill me if it was easier. Man Eater was pretty sure you had everything under control, but told me it was my call to go and just asked where I'd be.

Do you think they should have tried to stop you?

No, of course not. I appreciated their understanding. And it's for the best that they didn't offer to join me...

[Well, since he hasn't eaten any warm food for the past few days and certainly not home-cooked, he balances the chopsticks between the fingers of his good hand and with the traditional Japanese phrase (clearly a habit more out of reflex than anything else) starts eating.

And then tomorrow, I need to work on making sure everyone gets their limbs replaced.
