[She has not in fact figured it out yet, since both Nine Nine and King have randomly driven her to some specific place without her asking questions and that seemed to work out okay.

After a while of watching nothing much go by, though, and after mentally noting that he's not Overloading the golf cart the way he would if he wanted to get somewhere, she ventures a comment.]

Maybe they do intend to scale the production to house thousands of us.

Mm, I'm not sure. We still can't actually stay anywhere but the hotel...

And it seems like it would be hard to keep track of that many characters.

The first is just a budgeting problem.

And the second just makes things more competitive. They could do full scale Warhammer battles with that many idols.

If they just wanted us to battle things out and kill each other wholesale, that would be way easier than what they have us doing now. They're interested in individual suffering and moral dilemma... the sort of things that become meaningless in anything like a real war.

Why can't you have both?

For the same reason they split up the death games with kissing and drinking games. If people get used to killing being the norm, they start accepting it, and it gets easier. And if thousands of people die, there's no way people can feel the same way about it as they do if it's a handful of their closest friends.

But if your Asmodeus, you might be able to turn demons at a much faster rate than this current set-up.

That's true. But if the only goal was to break us down into a bunch of desperate, willing killers to make into demons, even this setup could do that a lot more efficiently than it is. I should know.

And that I don't doubt. Nor your experience.

But we all know this show isn't being run optimally. They didn't even have the infrastructure to handle out of game revivals until over a month in.

Poor planning. The lot of it.

Mm, that may be true, but I don't think it's just a lack of planning.

I'd also say resource constraints.

Unless you think it's something else.

I just don't think their goals are that simple.

I assume "their" goals are something as cliche as eradicating every trace of Heaven in the known multiverse so they can continue their work unimpeded.

And how does making us all kiss each other play into that?

Entertainment.

Have to keep the troops happy. Even better when you can double-dip into the entertainment to get more troops.

You don't actually have to keep the troops happy if the troops don't have any other options.

Then you're just asking to be overthrown.

I believe that's how you'd treat it. I don't believe Asmodeus plans to destroy all Heavenly opposition and then rule over everything as a benevolent dictator.

I don't believe Asmodeus is the top of the food chain.

There's too much organization for there not to be something.

Maybe. But I think the lack of planning makes more sense if it was done by committee..: a bunch of different people who don't all quite agree on what they're trying to do.

For the production, yes.

But do you really think that this is their main attraction? I doubt the Princes check in more than once a week.
