But the kiss cuts that off before he can finish. Or follow it up with any other commentary.

How unfortunate.

He’s stuck between his pride (which won’t let him reach up to push the blade away) and panic (which is screaming at him danger danger get away). And perhaps another day he would have chosen the sensible option (slim chance as it is). But he’s exposed too many vulnerabilities in the last twelve hours and he’s not about to risk anymore.

So he reaches up to tangle one hand in Maki’s hair and pull himself up into the kiss, pressing the metal further against his throat.]

[She wasn't entirely sure the knife would get the panic reaction, but when his eyes widen it confirms it does even if he suppresses his other reactions. So she's even more careful than usual, and when he moves she turns the blade slightly so the flat of it is against his throat and the edge doesn't bite into his skin even if he pushes against it, though the blade is thin enough it's may not be obvious that's what she's doing.

The kiss itself is not quite as aggressive or possessive as before, but she lingers at it, exploring his mouth thoroughly while she presses close to him.]

[Why are you backing down, Maki?

If she won’t be aggressive about it, then he will be. His grip tightens in her hair as she pulls her closer. And every time she lingers somewhere, he’ll growl deep in his throat before trying to take control of the kiss]

[Well, alright. When he growls she meets his aggression in the kiss, and swings her leg over so she's straddling him. She's still gentle with the knife, though, and no matter how either of them shift, her grip keeps it at a steady distance, the metal only lightly touching his skin.]

[Eventually he pulls back, raising an eyebrow at her quizically]

I can't tell if you mean that to be a threat or a tease.

[she sits up slightly, and moves the hand holding the knife to brace against his chest]

I wouldn't make a threat that wasn't a tease.

[His expression turns into a slow smirk]

Where's the fun if there is no real danger?

Teasing can have follow-through, too.

[As if this next statement should come as a shock]

Prove it.

[There's only a tiny roll of Maki's eyes.

Then, in a flash, she flips her grip on the knife and draws it down his chest from collarbone to stomach, slicing through all layers of his clothes and into his skin enough for blood to quickly start beading at the surface.]

[He hisses sharply, fingers digging into Maki's scalp as the knife marks across the stretches of leftover dragon tattoo are much more sensitive than the rest of the skin.

Once the throbbing subsides, he reaches up to cover the hand holding the knife with his own]

[She doesn't say anything, but her grip loosens.]

[He takes the knife, setting it above both their heads.

Before attempting to flip their positions]

[She's not going to make it quite that easy for him, and she hits him firmly in the chest with her elbow as they roll.]

But WHY though?

As they roll, he's going to attempt to grab that forearm that elbowed him and pin it over her head]

[He pins that hand, but her free hand fists in the raw edges of his clothes to pull him in for another kiss.]

MAKI!

This is not how this is supposed to go!]

[Is it not though?

The kiss is quick and intense, her neck craned at an uncomfortable angle so she can deepen it properly.]

[He kisses back just as passionately - free hand blindly reaching out to grab her other arm and pin it down.]

[He pins that arm successfully too, and she makes a small noise into the kiss, but otherwise doesn't break it, though she now has no way to hold him there.]

He pulls back from the kiss, smirking down at her and adding more pressure to her forearms]

What's the matter?

Don't think I'll show you a good time?

[Her eyes flash slightly.]

Do you want me to just lie back and take whatever you give me?

You've done so before.

Multiple times.

[rollplayinghouse]

[takes a breath, though it comes a little short]

And if you tell me to, I will.
